About The Event

This event is an interactive discussion group inspired by Charles Eisenstein's book 'Sacred Economics'. Many eco villages and communities are prohibitively expensive and people of working age are unable to live in them due to lack of work in the local area.

How could an eco village/community direct the resources, creativity, energy and skills of residents into the community? Can eco villages and communities re-imagine the jobs paradigm?

Rather than waiting for governments to introduce shorter working weeks and a universal basic income, eco villages/communities could become experiments for collaborative, co-operative work that directs the energy of community members towards solving important social and environmental issues. Surely life can be more fun and meaningful than the drudgery of mortgages and commuting. Let's live more and work less.

Read Charles Eisenstein's book 'Sacred Economics' which is available online for free or as an audiobook or can be purchased in hard copy. Link here: http://sacred-economics.com/

If you are unable to read the book, just come along anyway.

This will be a fascinating forum to test ideas and workshop ways of organising our lives. Let's re-imagine a new, fun way of living together.
