It's easier to be healthy when we get back to nature

Social Health

Yoga classes in the morning, dancing, card nights, singing are all healthy ways to spend time rather than watching television every night. Western consumer society is out of balance. Social isolation is causing a lot of harm and eco villages are a powerful antidote. EVA communities are illicit drug free and smoke free.

Robust and healthy relationships between the eco village and its neighbours and the local council are also an important part of creating social health at the eco village.

Dietary Health

Growing food, eating and cooking with other people can help people who live at the eco village to maintain a healthy diet. It is expected that together, eco village residents will eat less sugar, higher quality whole foods and less processed foods than the average Australian.

Emotional Health

Emotional health is a very important aspect that will help to create a community of respect and acceptance. Some aspects of eco village life will encourage emotional health such as opportunities to do fun activities, connect with nature and other people and have a meaningful existence of contribution and mutual appreciation. This doesn't mean that every moment will be wonderful for every person. Challenges are inevitable for all people whether they live in an eco village or not. These challenges can provide opportunities for reflection and personal growth. Emotional growth is available for every person at the eco village and focusing on emotional growth can help the community as a whole to become more resilient and loving. Non Violent Communication (NVC) and conflict resolution will be taught as part of the community living course.
